These Orthocerasare fossils of marine animals which lived 300 million years ago in a sea that covered most of the land known today as Morocco. These specimens have been carefully polished by craftsmen in order to reveal the structure of the mollusk’s shell. Orthoceras are distant relatives of the present-day squid.
