Larimar is a rare and exotic new gemstone (blue Pectolite NaCa2Si3O8(OH)) found in only one very small geographic location in the world – inside the crater of an extinct volcano in the Sierra Baroruco mountain range on the Caribbean island of Hispanola. Each stone is uniquely different, ranging in colour from shimmering aqua blue to deep sky blue with interesting white patterns. Larimar is between 5 and 6 on the Mohs scale of hardness – 10 being diamond. Esoterically, Larimar represents peace and clarity, emitting an energy of healing and love to the wearer that brings a sense of peace and truthfulness.
